Fairtex headguards are sized by head circumference in centimetres — four sizes (S, M, L, XL) cover the full adult range. A correctly-sized headguard sits firm without rocking and the eye gap aligns with your line of sight when you tuck your chin.
Fairtex Headguard Size Chart
Measure your head circumference around the widest point — just above the eyebrows and ears, around the back of the skull.
| Size | Head Circumference (cm) |
|---|---|
| S | up to 50 |
| M | 50 – 52 |
| L | 52 – 54 |
| XL | 54 – 56 |
How to measure
- Use a soft tape measure (or a piece of string you can then measure flat).
- Wrap the tape around the widest part of your head — about one finger above the eyebrows and across the bump at the back of the skull.
- Keep the tape level. Record the figure in centimetres.
- If you train with a thick beanie or compression cap under your headguard, add 1 cm to your measurement and pick the next size up.
Fairtex headguard model fit notes
- HG13, HG10 Super Sparring: traditional Muay Thai cut with chin and cheek protection — strap adjusts within each size band for a precise fit.
- HG18 Mexican Sparring Headguard: closer-fitting boxing-style guard with a higher eye gap — sizes run on the snug end of the chart, size up if you're between two figures.
- Headguards stretch slightly with use as the foam compresses — pick a snug fit out of the box rather than a loose one that will get sloppy after 20 sessions.

Description
Description
Hand-finished in Thailand, the Fairtex HG18 Mexican Sparring Headguard Black drops the open-face Mexican-style profile onto Fairtex's premium leather build — maximum visibility on the front, full coverage on the temples, cheeks and back of the head.
The open face keeps the line of sight clean for slipping and rolling, while contoured foam padding through the temples and cheeks softens the heavier shots. A wide hook-and-loop closure at the back locks the fit so the guard stays where it sits.
Main Features:
- Mexican-style open-face profile for maximum visibility
- Contoured foam padding around temples, cheeks and back of head
- Premium leather construction built to last hard sparring
- Wide rear hook-and-loop closure for a locked-in fit
- Handmade in Thailand by Fairtex craftsmen
