The Twins Special AG1 ankle supports are elastic cotton sleeves built to stabilise the ankle joint through kicks, pivots and footwork. Twins make them in two adult sizes that cover the range from junior teen to heavyweight pro — the elastic does most of the fitting work, so picking by ankle circumference is more important than picking by shoe size. Browse the full range in the Twins Special collection.
Fit tip: The AG1 is moderately elastic and sized to compress around the contours of the ankle. A correctly-sized support should feel snug at rest and stay in place through a round of pad work without slipping. Pick by ankle circumference first, foot size second.
| Size | Ankle Circumference (in) | Ankle Circumference (cm) | UK Shoe Size (typical) |
|---|---|---|---|
| M | 8 - 9.5 | 20 - 24 | UK 4 - 8 |
| L | 9.5 - 11 | 24 - 28 | UK 8 - 12 |
How to measure
- Ankle circumference: Wrap a tape around the narrowest point of the ankle, just above the ankle bones. Keep the tape snug but not compressing the skin — that's your true ankle measurement.
- Cross-check with shoe size: Most adults UK 4 - 8 land on Medium and UK 8 - 12 on Large, but always measure if you sit on the border.
- Pair use: Sold and worn as a pair. Wash by hand in cold water to preserve the elastic.
Borderline between sizes? Size down — the AG1 is built to stretch into place and a marginally tighter fit gives more joint support. If the support slides during a round, it's too loose. We offer 30-day returns on unworn ankle supports with tags attached. Browse the full Twins Special collection for boxing gloves, shorts and shin guards.

Description
The Twins Special AG1 Ankle Supports slip over the foot to compress and warm the ankle joint, helping guard against the rolls, twists and impacts that come with checking kicks and pivoting on the canvas. The elasticated poly-cotton sleeve gives steady, even pressure that supports the joint without limiting your footwork.
Worn singly or as a pair, they keep the ankle stable and the tendons warm through training, and the low-profile knit sits comfortably under shin guards or inside boots.
