Fairtex Boxing Gloves Size Guide
Fairtex boxing gloves are measured in ounces (oz). A higher oz means more padding and more weight — not a wider hand fit. Pick by bodyweight first, then check knuckle circumference if you're between options. Your gym's sparring rules can override the table — always check with your coach.
| Glove size | Bodyweight (lbs) | Bodyweight (kg) | Knuckle circumference (without wraps) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 oz / 6 oz | Under 80 | Under 37 | Under 5.5" |
| 8 oz | 80–112 | 37–50 | 5.5–6.5" |
| 10 oz | 112–132 | 50–60 | 6.5–7.5" |
| 12 oz | 132–165 | 60–75 | 7.5–8.5" |
| 14 oz | 165–190 | 75–86 | 8.5–9.5" |
| 16 oz | 190–205 | 86–92 | 8.5–9.5" |
How to choose your size
- Bag and pad work only? 12 oz or 14 oz is a comfortable all-rounder for most adults.
- Sparring? 16 oz is standard in most UK gyms. Some allow 14 oz for lighter boxers — confirm with your coach.
- Competition? 8 oz or 10 oz — minimal padding, not intended for long-term training.
- Larger hands? If your knuckle circumference is at the top of a band, size up one rung for a more comfortable fit.
- Wraps — most fighters wrap before training, which takes up internal volume. The chart shows circumference WITHOUT wraps.
