Cleto Reyes recommend training and sparring glove weight by body weight. Pick the row that matches your weight band — heavier gloves give more wrist protection and conditioning load, lighter gloves are faster. Note that Cleto Reyes gloves run slightly smaller than other major brands, so most fighters sit one weight class higher than the manufacturer chart for comfortable padding around the knuckles. If you're between bands, size up.

Universal Training Gloves (S / M / L)

The Universal Training Gloves use letter sizes rather than ounces. As a rough guide based on the oz chart above:

• Small — equivalent to 10–12 oz padding (under 130 lbs / 59 kg)
• Medium — equivalent to 12–14 oz padding (130–160 lbs / 59–73 kg)
• Large — equivalent to 14–16 oz padding (160 lbs+ / 73 kg+)

How to choose

• Sparring — go one weight class up from your body-weight band to protect your partner. Most adult male sparring is 16 oz.
• Pad & bag work — match the chart band, or drop one weight if you want more hand speed and don't have wrist issues.
• Cleto Reyes fit note — these are a snug, professional Mexican fit. If you have wider hands or are between sizes, choose the heavier weight.
