Progress Vale Tudo Shorts Size Guide

Progress Pro Vale Tudo Shorts use a compression-cut S – XXL grading that maps directly to Progress's standard hybrid shorts waist chart. Vale tudo shorts sit close to the body for MMA / Pankration / submission grappling rule sets and won't ride up during ground work. The waist band uses an elasticated drawcord rather than a velcro fly, so the fit is forgiving across the band ranges below.

Fit tip: vale tudo shorts are designed to be snug against the thigh — if you sit between two sizes, go down for a competition / submission fit, or up if you'll be wearing under-shorts. The spandex content stretches up to one band, so the same XS fits most rollers in the S range.

Size Waist
S 28 – 30" (71 – 76 cm)
M 30 – 32" (76 – 81 cm)
L 32 – 34" (81 – 86 cm)
XL 34 – 36" (86 – 91 cm)
XXL 36 – 38" (91 – 96 cm)

All Progress shorts are hand-made — please allow ±3 cm tolerance on garment measurements.

How to measure

  • Waist: measure around your natural waist where you'd normally wear your shorts, above the hip bones. Pick the row that brackets your reading.
  • Between sizes: size down for a tighter MMA / vale tudo competition fit; size up if layering over compression spats or preferring a looser cut.
  • Care: always cold wash (max 30°C); never tumble dry — spandex degrades under heat.

Pair with a Progress rashguard from the Progress Jiu Jitsu collection for a matched no-gi training set.
