Progress Pro Spats use the standard Progress XS – XXL waist grading, identical to the hybrid shorts chart. Spats are designed to fit snug against the leg with a high spandex content for full range of motion during ground work and clinching. They work as standalone no-gi training kit (often with a rashguard) or as a compression layer under fight shorts.
Fit tip: spats are intentionally tight against the leg — this is by design to prevent ride-up during scrambles. Pick the size that matches your waist; the lycra/elastane mix stretches comfortably across the band. If you sit between two sizes, size down for compression fit, size up for fitness/training wear.
| Size | Waist |
|---|---|
| XS | 26 – 28" (66 – 71 cm) |
| S | 28 – 30" (71 – 76 cm) |
| M | 30 – 32" (76 – 81 cm) |
| L | 32 – 34" (81 – 86 cm) |
| XL | 34 – 36" (86 – 91 cm) |
| XXL | 36 – 38" (91 – 96 cm) |
All Progress spats are hand-made — please allow ±3 cm tolerance.
How to measure
- Waist: measure around your natural waist, above the hip bones. Pick the row that brackets your reading.
- Inseam: spats are ankle-length on most heights; if you're 6'2"+ they may sit just above the ankle bone, which is intentional and IBJJF legal.
- Layering: if wearing under fight shorts, size for waist comfort — the shorts' drawcord will hold the outer layer regardless.
Pair spats with a Progress rashguard for a full no-gi set from the Progress Jiu Jitsu collection.
