Use this guide to size Hayabusa fight shorts. The same chart applies across the Icon Mid-Thigh, full Icon, Hexagon, Core and Marvel Punisher ranges — all use Hayabusa's standard adult fit, sized by waist measurement. Fight shorts are designed for a snug fit at the waist that won't slip during clinching, sprawls or guard transitions.
How to measure
- Waist: wrap a flexible tape around your natural waistline, roughly four fingers below the belly button. Keep the tape level all the way around and the abdomen relaxed.
- If you grapple in your shorts, consider sizing down half a step — polyester fight shorts give slightly with sweat and you do not want excess fabric for an opponent to grip.
- If you train predominantly striking and want freedom for high kicks, size to the upper end of your range.
Waist to short size
| Size | Waist |
|---|---|
| XS | 26 – 28 in (66 – 71 cm) |
| S | 28 – 30 in (71 – 76 cm) |
| M | 30 – 32 in (76 – 81 cm) |
| L | 32 – 34 in (81 – 86 cm) |
| XL | 34 – 36 in (86 – 91 cm) |
| 2XL | 36 – 38 in (91 – 97 cm) |
Mid-thigh vs full length
- Mid-thigh cut (e.g. Icon Mid-Thigh): the shorter MMA cut, sits above the knee. Best for striking, kicks and rangy guard work.
- Standard cut (e.g. Icon, Hexagon): sits at the knee. The classic boardshort silhouette for MMA, BJJ and no-gi training.
