The UK's Largest BJJ Gi Range
The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi — or kimono — is more than a uniform. It is the technical foundation of Gi BJJ, providing the handles and grips that define every clinch, sweep, guard pass, and submission in the sport. A well-fitting gi protects you on the mat, identifies your belt rank, and connects you to a martial art with roots from Judo masters in early 20th-century Brazil. At Made4Fighters we carry over 200 BJJ gis from seven leading brands — adult, women's, and kids' sizing, from A0 competition-light builds to heavyweight club gis built to absorb years of hard training.
Traditional pearl-weave cotton construction delivers the balance of weight and durability that most practitioners prefer for daily training. Gold weave falls heavier and stiffer for drilling-intensive academies; ripstop reinforcement on collars and cuffs adds tear resistance exactly where sustained lapel attacks cause the most wear. Modern pre-washed gis from Fumetsu remove the shrinkage guesswork entirely — what you read in the size guide is what you roll in.
Top BJJ Gi Brands
Fumetsu is our largest BJJ gi range with over 55 designs for men, women, and kids. The Ghost V-Lite is the flagship — a pre-washed pearl-weave gi that sizes true, meets IBJJF specifications, and survives years of five-session weeks without losing its shape. The Nexus line adds a contemporary minimal aesthetic in khaki, grey, and navy. Whether you are stepping on the mat for your first lesson or heading to a national competition, Fumetsu covers every tier.
Kingz is the Brazilian-founded brand worn on podiums at IBJJF Worlds, Europeans, and Pan. The Kore and Classic 3.0 are the go-to club companions — generous cuts, reinforced seams, and pearl weave that holds up to five sessions a week. The Balistico 3.0 and Nano 3.0 use polycotton blends to shave grams for competition day. We carry over 40 Kingz gis across adult men's and women's fits.
Progress Jiu Jitsu is the UK's own dedicated BJJ brand — designed and specified by practitioners for practitioners. The Academy series is the natural entry point: honest pearl-weave construction, correct IBJJF sizing, and a price that suits anyone starting out. The Temple, Mexicana, and M6 Kimono lines bring distinctive design language while keeping the same competition-legal cut. Progress gis are pre-washed and represent British grappling at every level.
Scramble has dressed the UK BJJ scene since the sport found its first serious training rooms here. The Athlete and Base K are minimalist pearl-weave builds for the purist — no fussy embroidery, correct competition cut, and cotton construction that washes well for years. Scramble regularly collaborates with gyms and athletes to produce limited editions that carry real cultural weight in the community.
Manto delivers bold graphic design rooted in the Polish BJJ scene where the brand was founded. The Miko is the standout model — a clean competition-white gi with subtle detail work that punches well above its price. The Society and X5 pair distinctive artwork with quality pearl-weave construction. If you want a gi that looks as striking at the podium as it does in drilling class, Manto is your brand.
Roll Supreme is the Nordic competition label known for a clean aesthetic and serious finishing details. The Finisher and Low Key are focused ranges built to do a few things extremely well — IBJJF-legal cuts, reinforced knee panels, and collars that hold up against repeated lapel chokes. If you compete regularly and want a dedicated competition gi that travels light, Roll Supreme belongs in your kit bag.
BJJ Gis for Every Fighter
BJJ is one of the fastest-growing martial arts in the UK across all ages and genders. Our gi range reflects that diversity — separate fits designed from the ground up for each demographic, not scaled-down versions of the adult men's cut.
Men's BJJ Gis
Men's BJJ gis run from A0 (152–155 cm) through A4 (183–195 cm), with L extensions for taller frames and H extensions for heavier builds. Over 115 men's gis in stock spanning every price tier — from beginner-friendly club builds under £80 through to competition-spec lightweight gis at £130–£180.
Women's BJJ Gis
Women's BJJ gis are cut for the female form — tapered hips, narrower shoulders, and shorter torso proportions that keep the jacket from riding up in bottom guard. F1 through F4 with C (wider chest) and L (longer leg) extensions. Fumetsu, Kingz, Progress, and Scramble all offer dedicated women's fits — over 65 gis from brands that genuinely understand female BJJ athletes.
Kids' BJJ Gis
Kids' BJJ gis are sized M0–M4 (approximately 120–170 cm) and built for the rigours of junior training — reinforced seams, pearl-weave construction that survives repeated washing at tournament frequency, and sizes designed specifically for young practitioners. Fumetsu, Kingz, and Venum all offer dedicated junior lines.
Picking Your First (or Next) BJJ Gi
For beginners — under £80
Start simple. Our beginners gi range covers the entry tier with pre-washed pearl weave from Progress and Fumetsu that sizes correctly and survives the wash cycle at an honest price. You do not need a competition-spec lightweight gi on day one. Focus on a correct fit, a matched rash guard underneath, and a white belt from your academy.
For regular training — £80–£130
Step up to the Kingz Kore, Scramble Athlete, or Manto Miko. Pearl weave at this tier is built for four to five sessions a week, the cut is generous enough for full guard and top game, and collar and cuff reinforcement handles thousands of grip cycles before showing wear. Most club-level competitors own two gis in this tier — one for training, one saved for competition day.
For competition or showcase — £130+
The premium gi range covers competition-spec builds — Kingz Nano 3.0 polycotton, Fumetsu Ghost V-Lite, and Roll Supreme The Finisher. These weigh 150–250 g less than a standard club gi, helping you make weight for IBJJF and UK circuit events where every gram at the scales counts. An investment in a dedicated competition gi pays dividends quickly if you train hard and enter regularly.
Materials, Construction and Care
Pearl weave is the dominant fabric in sport BJJ: woven to a tight, smooth surface that is difficult to grip without proper technique, durable under sustained collar and lapel attacks, and comfortable across multi-hour training sessions. Gold weave is heavier and stiffer — favoured by drilling-intensive academies where longevity matters more than weight at the scales. Ripstop panels on collars and knee areas extend the life of high-wear zones substantially. Competition-spec polycotton blends from Kingz and Fumetsu shave 200–400 g from a standard gi at the cost of some long-term durability.
Care is simple: cold or 30°C machine wash inside-out, hang to air dry immediately, never tumble dry. Tumble drying kills collar stiffness and ages raw cotton rapidly. Keep the gi bag open after training — a gi left in a sealed bag will develop odour within 24 hours. With basic care, any quality pearl-weave gi will outlast three to five years of regular training.
BJJ Gi vs No-Gi vs MMA Grappling
The gi defines classic Brazilian Jiu Jitsu — collar chokes, lapel guards, sleeve-and-collar grips, the Ezekiel, the Brabo, spider guard, de la Riva. Remove it and the entire grip economy shifts. No-Gi BJJ replaces the kimono with rash guards and fight shorts — faster pace, more wrestling influence, and grip patterns that translate directly to MMA competition. Most serious competitors train both disciplines. If you are undecided, start gi — the additional technical vocabulary transfers well to no-gi, whereas the reverse is a slower development path.
Complete Your BJJ Kit
The gi is the foundation. Build out with a BJJ rash guard for under-gi comfort, a ranked belt from your academy's approved list, and accessories — finger tape, mouthguard, grip pads. If you cross-train no-gi, our full no-gi range covers everything you need. Round out your look off the mat with jiu jitsu T-shirts, casual clothing, and gi bags sized to protect a collar in transit.
