Measure from just below the kneecap down to the top of the ankle bone for shin length, and from the top of the ankle bone to the base of the toes for instep length. How to choose your shin-guard size
- Shin length is the priority — a guard that ends short of the ankle or sits too high on the knee will roll out of position under kicks.
- Instep coverage — the foot panel should cover from ankle bone to the base of the toes; too short leaves the metatarsals exposed.
