The UK's Largest Muay Thai Hand Wrap Range
Hand wraps are the first piece of kit every nak muay learns to love — and the last thing you should cut corners on. Wrapping your hands before training protects the 27 bones and 29 joints in your hand and wrist from the accumulated impact of every bag session, pad round and sparring session. At Made4Fighters we carry over 150 hand wrap styles from the world’s leading brands — one of the UK’s most comprehensive ranges, whether you need traditional 5m cotton wraps for competition or quick-slip gel wraps for a 6am session.
The hand wrap is older than the modern boxing glove. In Muay Thai gyms across Thailand, fighters wrap before every session — a ritual that is as much mental preparation as it is physical protection. Traditional 4.5–5m cotton wraps build up a firm protective layer around the knuckles, compress the wrist joint and support the thumb. Shorter 2.5m wraps are compact for bag-only sessions. Elastic polycotton blends stretch to accommodate different wrapping styles and dry faster after training. Gel quick-wraps slip on in under a minute and have become the go-to for busy training schedules where every minute before the session counts.
Top Muay Thai Hand Wrap Brands
Venum is the UK’s best-selling hand wrap brand — and with over 45 active styles in stock we are hard pushed to think of a wrapping need it doesn’t cover. The Kontact range spans 2.5m and 4m cotton wraps in dozens of colourways; the Monogram and Classic Advanced ranges add a premium polyester-cotton construction for fighters who want longevity over budget. The Kontact Gel Quick Wraps slip on in seconds — perfect for training days when every minute counts.
Fumetsu makes the hand wrap of choice for fighters who train hard and train often. The Ghost S3 Quick Wraps are engineered to partner with the Ghost S3 glove system — a tight, secure cuff designed to maintain hand alignment under heavy impact on bag and pads. The Icon range delivers 4m elastic training wraps with full knuckle, wrist and thumb coverage at a price that suits regular training.
Twins Special brings authentic Thai craftsmanship to every CH-series wrap. The CH2 Premium Cotton and CH5 Premium Elastic 5m wraps are made in Thailand and match the quality expected from a brand worn by generations of champions. The CH5 elastic construction makes these the easiest traditional wraps to apply tight and even, even for fighters still developing their wrapping technique.
Hayabusa Perfect Stretch wraps offer a premium polycotton weave with superior knuckle padding. Available in over seven colourways, they deliver the ideal balance of stretch, compression and support for fighters logging heavy training weeks. Particularly popular with athletes who cross-train Muay Thai and boxing.
8 Weapons hand wraps come in 3.5m and 5m lengths with the same premium cotton-polyester construction the German brand applies to its gloves and shorts. Bold colourways — camo, purple, blue and classic black — keep your wrap choice distinctive. A favourite with kickboxing and K-1 crossover fighters who trust the 8 Weapons brand across all their kit.
Sandee is the UK heritage brand for traditional Muay Thai fighters. Sandee’s 2.5m and 5m cotton wraps are honest, dependable and built to last season after season — exactly what you expect from a Sandee brand worn by British and European champions for decades.
Fly Sports rounds out our range with elastic nylon Big Logo, Monogram and Gel Fast wraps — a lighter, stretchier option for fighters who prefer fast, secure coverage without the bulk of a full traditional cotton wrap. Good value for fighters equipping a full squad.
Picking Your First (or Next) Pair of Hand Wraps
For beginners — under £15
Start with a 2.5m cotton or synthetic-blend wrap. The Venum Kontact 2.5m range and Bytomic Red Label Mexican wraps hit the brief: forgiving for fighters still learning the wrapping technique, machine-washable and tough enough for weekly bag sessions. Pair with a set of Muay Thai gloves and you have everything you need for pad and bag work from day one.
For regular training — 4m to 5m wraps
Once you are training two or more sessions a week, upgrade to a full 4.5–5m wrap for complete knuckle-to-wrist coverage. Twins Special CH5 and Fumetsu Icon sit in the £12–20 bracket and deliver professional-grade protection round after round. A properly applied 5m wrap reduces wrist flex under heavy impact — critical when driving knees into Muay Thai pads or checking low kicks. Add Muay Thai shin guards and a head guard for full contact sparring rounds.
For competition
At competition level, fighters wrap with long cotton wraps for the compressive stability they provide beneath close-laced gloves. Twins Special CH2 Premium Cotton, Sandee 5m cotton and Fumetsu Ghost S3 Quick Wraps are the competition-tested choices at Made4Fighters. Confirm the allowed wrapping technique with your cornerman before fight day — sanctioning bodies differ on permitted wrap length and method.
Materials, Construction and Care
Three main constructions dominate the hand wrap market. Traditional cotton wraps (4.5–5m) are the standard choice for Muay Thai — typically a nylon-cotton blend that gives structure and controlled stretch. Sandee, Twins Special and 8 Weapons use this construction; they reward proper rolling and hanging to dry between sessions.
Polyester-cotton blends (2.5m–5m) dry faster and stretch slightly more than pure cotton — ideal for training weeks where wraps need to be ready again the next morning. Venum Kontact and Fumetsu Icon wraps use this construction and are the UK’s top-selling hand wrap lines.
Gel quick-wraps and neoprene wraps are slip-on designs with built-in knuckle gel pads. They sacrifice some customisable padding for speed — ideal as a backup pair or for bag sessions where time is limited. They are not a substitute for traditional wraps in heavy sparring or competition.
Care is the same across all constructions: machine wash at 30°C in a mesh laundry bag (this prevents tangling), air dry fully before rolling, and never tumble dry — heat degrades elastic fibres rapidly. A good pair of wraps, properly cared for, will outlast several pairs of gloves.
Muay Thai Hand Wraps vs Boxing Hand Wraps vs Quick Wraps
Hand wraps are genuinely cross-disciplinary. The same wrap works across Muay Thai, boxing, kickboxing and MMA. The difference is principally in length and construction preference, not in the product category itself.
Boxing and Muay Thai hand wraps use the same patterns and lengths. If you split sessions between Muay Thai sparring and boxing bag work, a 5m cotton wrap serves both perfectly. The hand-wrapping technique differs slightly — more knuckle focus for boxing, more wrist lock for Muay Thai clinch work — but the wrap itself is interchangeable across both sports.
MMA fighters wrap for striking rounds and remove wraps for grappling. A 4m cotton wrap or a quick-wrap works equally well under MMA training gloves. Quick wraps are not a substitute for traditional wraps in heavy sparring or competition — they provide less compression and less wrist stability. Reserve quick wraps for bag rounds and conditioning sessions; reach for a full 5m cotton wrap for contact sparring and fight prep.
Complete Your Muay Thai Kit
Hand wraps protect your hands — build the rest of your kit around them. Add Muay Thai gloves for sparring and pad work, Muay Thai shin guards for kicking rounds, a Muay Thai head guard for contact sparring and groin guards for competition-rule training.
