Twins Special shin guards are sized by shin length — the bone measurement from the bottom of the knee to the top of the ankle. The Twins SGS10 is a double-padded leather guard built for hard sparring and clinch work, and getting the length right matters more than getting the foot piece right. Fit tip: The chart below is the official Twins sizing guide. Measure your shin from the bottom of the kneecap to the top of the ankle bone — the shin guard should sit just under the knee and end just above the ankle so toes poke out of the foot piece. Too short and you expose the upper shin; too long and the guard fouls on the knee in clinch.

How to measure
- Shin length: Sit with your knee bent at 90 degrees. Run a tape from the bottom of the kneecap straight down to the top of the ankle bone — that's your shin length.
- Foot length: Measure from the back of the heel to the tip of the longest toe. The foot piece on Twins guards should end just behind the toes so they poke out, preventing the guard from catching on the canvas.
- Height as a cross-check: Most adults 5'6" to 5'9" land on Medium, 5'10" to 6'0" on Large, and 6'1"+ on XL — but always measure rather than guess.
Borderline between sizes? Size down — Twins guards have moderate stretch in the strapping and a marginally short guard sits cleaner than one that fouls on the knee. The Twins Special SGL10 Leather Shin Pads wrap the shin and instep in genuine leather over a thick, shock-absorbing foam core, so you can block and check kicks in sparring without taking the sting. The contoured shape follows the line of the leg for a snug, low-profile fit that stays put through fast exchanges.
Two adjustable rear straps with hook-and-loop closures keep the guard locked in place, while the padded instep flap protects the top of the foot during clinch work and teeps.
