Fit tip: Progress gis are competition-cut and run a touch slim through the body. If you sit between sizes, height usually wins over weight — go up if you're taller, stay put if you're stockier. Mid-height grapplers in the 178–183 cm band can choose between A2 (standard) and A1L (longer arms/legs, slimmer body). Expect ~3 cm shrinkage on a cold wash; never tumble dry.

How to choose your size
- Weigh in honestly: pick the row that brackets your current weight. If you're cutting for competition, use your fight weight, not your walk-around.
- Check height against the row: if your height pushes past the upper bound, jump to the L (Long) version of the same number — A1L, A2L, A3L offer longer sleeves and trousers without changing body width.
- Between numerical sizes: Progress runs true to BJJ standard. Most UK rollers at 80–86 kg / 175–180 cm land cleanly in A2.
- Wash care: always cold wash and hang dry to avoid shrinkage past the 3 cm tolerance.
