Venum Challenger 4.0 Boxing Gloves Black/Bronze

Venum boxing gloves are sized by ounce (oz) weight — heavier gloves carry more foam padding for sparring and heavy-bag work, lighter gloves are built for competition speed and light pad rounds. Use your bodyweight and intended use as the starting point, then refine based on whether you're sparring, hitting pads or working the heavy bag. Browse the full lineup in the Venum collection.

Fit tip: These weight estimates are indicative — glove size also depends on intensity, frequency and the protection you need. The heavier the glove, the more foam layers, the more protection for both you and your training partner.

Note: Pro Boxing XL gloves are designed for athletes with larger hands — check the individual product page if you wear a UK glove size 11+ or have a hand circumference over 8.5 inches.

How to pick the right ounce

• Sparring: Default to 16 oz regardless of bodyweight — most UK gyms require it for partner safety.
• Heavy bag / pads: 12-14 oz is a good all-rounder for most weight classes.
• Competition: 8-10 oz depending on the sanctioning body and weight category.
• Beginners: Start with 14 oz — protects your hands while you build technique.

Not sure which size to pick? If you train across formats (bag work, pads, occasional sparring), 14 oz or 16 oz covers the widest range. We offer 30-day returns on unworn boxing gloves with tags attached. Browse the full Venum collection for hand wraps, headguards and ring gear.
