Bytomic Muay Thai Head Guards — UK value-tier protection

Bytomic is the UK's largest combat-sports brand distributor and produces its own line of value-tier sparring gear under the Bytomic name. The Muay Thai head guard range earns its place by hitting the value-sweet-spot most British clubs need: tournament-rated synthetic leather, comfortable extended-sparring fit, and a price point that survives the realities of club training — losing one to a moving van or a flooded gym bag is not going to ruin your training week. The Pakistan-made range covers two tiers — the premium Axis V2 and the value Red Label Tournament — both built for Muay Thai clinch work, full-contact sparring, and amateur tournament use. Authorised UK Bytomic stockist since 2007 — free delivery over £75, easy 30-day returns.

The Bytomic Muay Thai head guard range

Axis V2 — premium club sparring

Bytomic's flagship Muay Thai head guard. The Axis V2 uses a synthetic leather shell with high-density EVA foam, sculpted cheek coverage for round kicks and elbows, and an open-face cut that keeps sightlines clear during clinch exchanges. Adjustable Velcro at the back and chin secures the fit so it does not shift mid-round. Available in Black/Black, Blue/White, Red/Black and Black/White at £45.99. The right call for adult sparrers training three or more sessions a week.

Red Label Tournament — value tier

The Red Label Tournament series is the value tier — designed for tournament prep and beginner sparring where you want reliable padding without the premium price. Slightly lower foam density than the Axis V2, comparable coverage and the same adjustment system. Available in White/Grey, Black/White, Black/Black, Blue/White and Red/Black from £30.39. A solid choice for first-tournament fighters, occasional sparrers, and growing kids progressing from light contact.

Picking your Bytomic head guard

For most adult sparrers doing three to five Muay Thai sessions a week, the Axis V2 is the right call — better foam recovery, longer service life, fewer cosmetic abrasions over a season of regular use. For occasional sparrers, beginners, growing kids, or anyone needing a backup for a tournament weekend, the Red Label Tournament does the job at a lower price point.

One important distinction: Bytomic also makes the Defender head guard, but that is a karate / taekwondo / kickboxing point-sparring foam-dipped guard — it is not included on this page and is not suitable for Muay Thai contact. If you train Muay Thai, stick with the Axis V2 or Red Label Tournament listed above. If you train karate or TKD point sparring, the Defender lives on the main Bytomic head guards page.
