The Twins Special AG1 ankle supports are elastic cotton sleeves built to stabilise the ankle joint through kicks, pivots and footwork. Twins make them in two adult sizes that cover the range from junior teen to heavyweight pro — the elastic does most of the fitting work, so picking by ankle circumference is more important than picking by shoe size. Fit tip: The AG1 is moderately elastic and sized to compress around the contours of the ankle. A correctly-sized support should feel snug at rest and stay in place through a round of pad work without slipping. Pick by ankle circumference first, foot size second.

How to measure

• Ankle circumference: Wrap a tape around the narrowest point of the ankle, just above the ankle bones. Keep the tape snug but not compressing the skin — that's your true ankle measurement.
• Cross-check with shoe size: Most adults UK 4 - 8 land on Medium and UK 8 - 12 on Large, but always measure if you sit on the border.
• Pair use: Sold and worn as a pair. Wash by hand in cold water to preserve the elastic.

Borderline between sizes? Size down — the AG1 is built to stretch into place and a marginally tighter fit gives more joint support. If the support slides during a round, it's too loose.
