Cleto Reyes was born in Mexico in 1920. At the end of 12 he left school to start working in a workshop sewing baseball gloves. After a heavy pounding, although impressing fans, in an amateur boxing fight in 1938, Cleto decided he would never fight again. Instead he chose to improve the gloves he was wearing during the fight. And started to experiment with a sewing machine. This is how the brand Cleto Reyes was subsequently created.
Quickly gaining the attention of top industry professionals. The first Cleto Reyes boxing gloves were used in a World Championship in 1945. And in 1965 distribution of Cleto Reyes boxing gloves began in the United States. Today the brand Cleto Reyes is consistently recognised as one of the leading producers of boxing equipment and for how good their gloves are; being used by professional and amateur boxers around the world.
